Using SHP for Telemedicine Appointments
Through Teladoc Health, SHP members have access to healthcare by phone, video or app anywhere in the U.S.
Some services, like counseling, can be used for ongoing care. You can choose the same therapist or select a different one until you find a good match.
Teladoc Health services include:
- General medical services – Care for non-urgent and common conditions from a board-certified doctor 24/7.
- Mental health care – Online appointments with therapists available 7 days a week to get support for anxiety, depression, stress, and more. Psychiatry support for some medications also available.
- Dermatology – Upload images and provide details about your skin condition in the Teledoc Health portal and receive a response and treatment plan within 24 hours from a licensed dermatologist. Medication prescription and follow-up appointments also available.
What does it cost?
Teladoc Health services cost the same as in-person primary and mental health services with an Aetna network provider (see summary of benefits covered for your plan).
How do I use it?
- Use your phone, the app, or the website to create an online account using the Aetna member ID# printed on your insurance card. (If you do not have your card, you can download and/or print it from the Aetna website.)
- Complete your medical history and Teladoc's Emotional Health Questionnaire.
- Request an appointment time and provider.
- Your Teladoc Health doctor/counselor will contact you at your selected time.
