What This Means for Cornell Student Health Benefits
Cornell Student Health Benefits helps students understand and meet the university’s student health insurance requirement and provides information, resources, and support related to student health insurance and benefits. This includes helping students:
- Understand and meet Cornell’s student health insurance requirement.
- Learn about SHP insurance and, when eligible, how to waive SHP using other health insurance that meets the university’s health insurance criteria.
- Understand and use health insurance benefits, including finding care while on campus, traveling, or living away from campus.
- Learn about and enroll in Cornell’s optional dental and vision insurance.
- Find information about SHP benefits, coverage, costs, billing, and plan documents.

Cornell’s Health Promoting Campus initiative focuses on individual, social, and ecological well-being. The initiative includes campus-wide work related to belonging, connection, sustainability, mental health, physical health, and the conditions that help people thrive.
