SHP / Health Fee Refunds

Spring 2020 update

Refunds for the university’s Student Health Plan (SHP) and Student Health Fee are not available for students who have left campus, since they provide a critical safety net to ensure that all students, regardless of location, have access to quality and affordable healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

They also fund Cornell Health services, which now include telehealth medical and mental health services for students in the United States, and support and care management services wherever students reside.

Additionally, Cornell is administering SHP in compliance with the NYS Department of Financial Services' recent guidance for insurance plans during the pandemic. This guidance is intended to prevent disruptions in insurance coverage and to avoid the creation of an uninsured population during a global pandemic.
