Student Health Plan (SHP) summer enrollment
Enrollment in Cornell's Student Health Plan (SHP) for the summer is ...
MANDATORY for international students not already enrolled in SHP:
- International students are required to be covered by SHP for the duration of their academic program (with few exceptions).
- If you are a visiting international student, or a current international student not already covered by SHP from the previous academic year (plan coverage ends July 31), you will be automatically enrolled in SHP for each month that your program spans.
OPTIONAL for domestic students:
Most current students will already be covered by their student health plan (SHP or SHP-M) or Student Health Fee coverage from the previous academic year (academic-year SHP, SHP-M, and health fee coverage ends July 31, unless your plan indicates otherwise).
If you are a visiting or current U.S. student who does not have adequate health insurance during your summer program, you may be eligible to enroll in SHP (see enrollment information below).
If you are a new academic-year student participating in an early start program, you will be automatically enrolled in SHP for the duration of your summer program. Domestic students who have alternate insurance that meets Cornell's requirements may apply to waive their SHP enrollment.
Summer 2020 SHP premium
The summer 2020 SHP premium is $259 / month.
Your SHP enrollment and premium will apply to every month your program spans.
